Small Steps to Success

Sometimes it's all the small steps that get you where you want to go... this is true when pursuing your bachelors degree and college lacrosse dreams.  Here are a couple examples of college lacrosse players who took small steps to get where they are today...

Hakeem Lecky - Bio
Play Attack for Syracuse University
Played his first lacrosse season in his sophomore year.
After graduating from Duxbury High School in 2009, attended Avon Old Farms for a year.
From Syracuse Post-Standard Article"I was halfway through my freshman year in high school before I picked up a stick..."
"A year at prep school helped him refine his raw talent..."
Grant Kaleikau - Bio
Plays Attack for University of Delaware
After graduating from Watkins Mill High School in 2007, attended Bridgeton Academy for a year.
From Baltimore Sun Article
Q: You’re from Germantown, and you played at Watkins Mill High School in Gaithersburg. Were you recruited by any of the local programs?
A: Interestingly enough, I was recruited by Towson, and I was going to go to Towson, but at the time, I couldn’t get in. So I did a postgraduate year at Bridgeton Academy in Maine. I went there, and things didn’t work out at Towson. So I was kind of in a hole for a while and then out of nowhere, Delaware popped up, and thank God they did. But while I was at Watkins Mill, I was only recruited by Towson, Washington College, Quinnipiac.

Ken Senisi - Bio
Head Lacrosse Coach, Howard Community College (HCC)
Before graduating from from Salisbury and pursuing his masters degree at UMBC, attended Dean Jr. College.
HCC's motto - “You Can Get There from Here” and Coach Senisi's belief in the power of small steps is the fuel that drives Tommy Drury (Watkins Mill Alum) pursue his college degree and his WM Lacrosse Dreams.
