Another Great Practice Yesterday

We had 15 players show up for practice (including 3 upcoming freshmen - YAY!) and 5 of our young men respectfully notified Coach Joe they won't be able to attend. At Throwback, we call that a Winning Day.

Thanks to our Alumni Coaches...
Max Garfinkel
Kyle Hall
Cam Riddell
Shane Soghomonian
Charles Fianko
They provided one-on-one instructions which yielded significant improvement and successes by the end of practice.  This was the kind of coaching and individual attention we wanted for our boys when they participated in college recruiting camps, but didn't get.  Kudos to our Throwback coaches and community for "paying it forward."

Coaching Highlights...
  • Individual FOGO (Face Off Get Off) Instruction ---FOGO
  • 1-on-1 training on defensive body position
  • Introduced the 2-3 offense
  • Worked on defense slides and clearing
  • 6 vs 6 scrimmage to end practice.

Who is Throwback?

Throwback is an all volunteer lacrosse community of players, coaches, and parents.  The purpose of the community is as stated above... to give players the opportunity to practice together, push each other to be their best, and have fun in an environment where player leadership is expected and appreciated.

There is NO cost to join Throwback Lacrosse. Becoming a part of the community is through action - showing up, collaborating, and giving. There is NO fee required to practice or play pick-up games (PUGs) with Throwback player. Practice and PUG start times and open fields are identified by Alumni Coaches and participants show up with lacrosse gear and rage cages in tow.

The costs are only incurred when a player plans to participate in leagues or tournaments.  Those costs are the following:
  • Registration fees
  • Food at tournaments
  • Throwback apparel
To be added to the Throwback distribution list, please email jtpizzini@gmail.com.
